HOW BIG IS BABY?
I don’t know yet! I have an appointment with Julie for another weigh in this week I’m guessing she’d have to be getting close to 8lbs/3.6kg now she has definitely chubbed up this week!

WHAT’S SOMETHING NEW THIS WEEK?
Prairie fairy is having a lot more awake time this week, she seems to have transitioned out of the extreme sleepiness and has joined us for a fair bit of awake time during the day which is lovely to watch.

MOST CHALLENGING MOMENT?
I’d say it’s balancing everyone’s needs when Prai needs me and I’m tending to the others, I just hate hearing Prairie crying and I just instantly want to scoop her up and make her feel safe, I also want to ensure that I don’t make a beeline for the baby right when I’m connecting with one of the others, I’m particularly sensitive about not doing that when I’m with Poet as I would hate her to ever feel that with the new addition of little P that her needs aren’t as important or that her mummy isn’t as available to her.

FAVOURITE MOMENTS?
Just every moment with Prairie, I love the night times when it’s just her and I together and the rest of the house is quiet and dark. We look into each other’s eyes and I do baby massage with her. I listen to a podcast, drink some kombucha and we just hang on the bed together, we really are falling in love and getting to know each other, blissful simplicity.

MAMA TIME?
I had a beautiful massage and belly wrap courtesy of Nadia from The Golden Month this past week, that was just dreamy and it was also forever downtime (muuuch needed) other than that I’ve struggled to even get a shower in haha! Between school pick ups, drop-offs, playgroups, kindergyms, dance classes, school lunches, cooking, housekeeping and all the other things that come with solo parenting 4 kids, I am definitely struggling in this area!

MY BODY?
I’ve been bleeding a little kore this week the last week but apparently, that was to be expected after my belly massage. Otherwise, I’m feeling good and even got a little bit of fitness in this week between all the things!

WHAT AM I EATING?
Not the most amazing things I must say! In between my nutritious Golden Moth food I’ve been having so many kombuchas, a chocolate bar each day, pizza pick up - shout out to V spot pizza bar the “seafood” (vegan) pizza with garlic sauce wooot woot!! It’s an actual craving that pizza omg if you live in Adelaide you MUST try it. Run to Magill road and try one I’m telling you right now it’s absolute gold hahaha I could deffo be a little healthier but I’m enjoying some indulgent foods and I’ve also been loving cooking (nachos and some vegan potato au gratin were favs this week)

WHAT’S WORKING?
Cluster feeding during the day has been wonderful. It means a lot more nursing but with a great result (longer stretches at night time!) she lets me know when she’s hungry (many times a day haha) and then it means by night time she’s pretty full up.

REFLECTIONS?
Practicing an awful lot of gratitude right now, it’s kind of the theme of this month. It’s one thing to be conscious of saying thank you to those around us but sitting in a place of deep gratitude for all the experiences in our life (even finding the space to be thankful for the challenging ones) is such a humbling thing to do. I’ve been writing in a gratitude journal and giving time to the places in our life that touch or move us is a really beautiful practice and even in the hard chaotic moments of the day I try and give thanks, it helps alleviate any stress or discomfort in the daily grind.
