Loui's Birth Story by Bianca

I’m Bianca and below is the story of my baby called Loui, is was born in Byron Bay, at the birth centre and now his is a 2,5 yo.

Just to share with you my baby’s birth was the dream birth! The water broke at 9 in the morning - we’re out having breakfast then we went to a lay down at the beach; light contractions started and mucus plug came out. We went to the organic store to get some food, after that we came home and my partner steered to organise the house and the final details before going to the birth center. I was in our room with the windows closed as it felt good. He was supportive in each contraction and as they started to come closer together we went to the birth center, it was around 2:30. When arriving there I stay for a little time on the floor with the ball and he was squeezing my hips to help me. After that we went to the shower and the contractions got stronger and stronger. We then went to the pool and it was magical ,free to move with the contractions and having him around me giving me emocional e physical support. My notion of time was gone by then and the midwifes were around but

As I asked on my birth plan with very little talking or hands on, apart from the cold water and cold clothes on my forth head. Didn’t take long to feel a very strong pressure on my back and from there a few more contractions and they could see the head and I could feel it! I held for a little there until pushing his head out. One more contraction and he came out, or slipped out! My partner caught him and he came straight to my arms. He needed a little rubbing on to get the first breath, that was when the midwife came quickly into it but with seconds he came back to me and went straight to his first breastfeeding, it was fascinating! After a few minutes de midwife asked me to push the placenta, she suggested a little pull on the cord and it was the almost funny how easy it came out. From there on we’re hanging on the pool till the right moment my partner to cut the cord and after that we went to bed together when we kept him feeding. Checks were made on me, a couple of grazes that

Didn’t need any extra care and from there on just checks on baby... ah, it was 17:46 when he was born! At 10pm we’re back home with our loved baby boy! Anyway, just wanted to say thank you for being part of this wonderful journey of birthing, as your book was a great resource for me!

Ps. I was sooo present that I didn’t even had one single photo in the bath…
