Week 30-32 Pregnancy VLOG baby 3 Sarah Olsen

WHAT WEEK?

30-32

HOW BIG IS BABY?

The size of a coconut. (to me she feels bigger.) Approx 3 pounds.

WHAT’S SOMETHING NEW THIS WEEK?

We are at the barn!

MOST CHALLENGING MOMENT

I had a moment of uncertainty. I felt a bit overwhelmed being so far away from my doctor. Should I go home and check in, see the baby’s positioning do blood work or should I stay longer here.  It all felt like a lot and I burst into tears talking about it with Eric. He just reminded me to talk to my Doctor and ask his opinion and see what he thinks. Covid 19 is on the rise in CA and what would be the point of racing home. My Doctor assured me that if my blood pressure was ok and the baby’s heartbeat was strong, we could stay longer and just take it one day at a time.

MOST EXCITING MOMENT

Barn living! I was worried that my comfort levels would drop and it would be hard for me to live in an airstream / a barn while its so hot here in Idaho but its been amazing.  We have spent our days cooking, walking in the aspen forest, and driving to Teton National Park for swims in String lake.  We had a beautiful day there with hardly anyone around. The weather was perfect, we packed a picnic and we paddle boarded and swam in the lake.

EXERCISE

I started incorporating the Spinning Babies Daily Essentials Yoga practice into my routine of walks and occasional workouts.  This practice is helping to open and stretch my body to make room for baby and to help my body with baby’s positioning. Not knowing exactly how she is laying in there I want to give her the space to move around.

MEALS

We have been making lots of meals over the fire outside. One of my favorite sites to visit for quick and easy GF and Pescatarian meals is The Minimalist Baker. I have made her spicy fish tacos, quinoa cakes, her instant pot black beans, her garlic guacamole! It has been an amazing summer of cooking and enjoying her recipes.

FOOD AVERSIONS

Not too many food aversions at this point but just don’t love any weird smells.

CRAVINGS

We have a lot of yummy food here in the Valley and I have enjoyed every moment of eating take out from some of our local spots. Teton Thai and Big hole BBQ are two that we are nuts about.

REFLECTIONS

30-32 Weeks and we have been in Idaho now for over month. We have loved the long days of being outside, swimming in cold mountain lakes and creeks, making food together as a family and spending dedicated time with the kids. We do not take for granted that this time to be away and isolated has been a gift for our family of 4 that will soon be a family of 5.

The kids have had the most amazing time and the day we were packing to come out to the barn I gave them the SAGO mini box to play with. It is a Montessori box of activities. They were so in love with making all the characters and hats. We have had lots of questions about subscription boxes but this one was so beautifully done. The kids played games, played with fairy tale characters, Esmé made a wizard hat and wand and continued to play with it for days.

So now we will be living out in the country and I look forward to seeing how long we actually stay out here at the barn in the airstream but for now we are going to take it a day at a time and see how my body feels and see how the baby is doing.

My friends at SAGO mini Box are offering a discount code for anyone who would like to give it a try. The code is SARAHW15 and the discount expires on September 30th!
