Week 40 Pregnancy VLOG, baby number 5 by Teresa Palmer

What’s baby up to?
Our Baby is about the size of a (small!) pumpkin.

Baby can really weigh anything at this point. My baby’s guess weight is around 8lbs/3.6kg (by the time you’re reading this you’ll know exactly how much they weighed at birth!) baby is doing last minute growing but every other function in the body is fully cooked!!

Anything new these weeks?
YES!! Labour hahaha but besides that, SO much. I experienced the bloody show, loss of mucus plug, a cervical sweep at 40 + 6, prodromal labour for days, I did the Miles circuit religiously, drunk the Labor Day Tea recipe courtesy of Mama Natural. Went in for my first CTG scan (called NST in the USA)

Challenges
Well having to pivot in my head to birthing in a birth suite at the hospital was a big challenge because as of September 17th until 4pm ish it seemed like homebirth was off the table. I actually just fully leant into the idea and thought well okay! Change of plans but then those plans got changed back LOL that was a doozy but I actually think it helped set everything off.

Reflections
Well this is it! I told you I’d record this when I was in early labor and it’s begun. By the time you’re reading this you’ll know the outcome of this birth and all I have to say is WOWOWOWWOWOW. As I’m writing this my tummy is feeling empty and soft and in deep gratitude to the little life it got to nurture for this pregnancy journey. Thank you for joining me for my 5th pregnancy Vlog series, wishing you the very best for your own experience in
